During the ongoing CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, a controversy erupted after Delhi Police escorted a journalist out of the protest site. According to protesters, the journalist was attempting to disrupt the atmosphere by repeatedly asking provocative questions. Some protesters referred to the person as “Godi Media”, a term used by critics for sections of the media they believe are aligned with the government. The incident briefly escalated tensions at the venue before Delhi Police intervened and took the journalist outside the protest area. Protesters claimed the move helped restore calm at the site. The allegations regarding intentions, affiliations or attempts to disrupt the protest have not been independently verified and are presented here as claims made by protesters. The incident has reignited a wider debate over media conduct, journalistic ethics and the role of reporters during public protests.
