River Tawi is not just a river… She is the heartbeat of Jammu. From the sacred ghats to the fields of farmers, From daily wage workers to shopkeepers, From rituals to drinking water — Tawi has silently sustained lakhs of lives. But today… The same river that nurtures us is choking on plastic, sewage, and neglect. We worship her during festivals, Yet we poison her in daily life. If Tawi dies, Jammu loses its soul. Farmers lose irrigation. Families lose livelihood. Future generations lose their heritage. Sustainable development is not a slogan. It means growth without destroying the very river that feeds us. Development should protect Tawi, Not suffocate her. www.navjivanfoundation.org
