Before Nathuram Godse, there was a secret plot in 1917 to end Mahatma Gandhi’s life before the world even knew him as the "Mahatma." 🕊️✨ ​During the historic Champaran Satyagraha in Motihari, Bihar, British officials were desperate to silence the growing movement. An English officer invited Gandhi ji to his residence under the pretense of formal negotiations. But behind closed doors, a sinister plan was set in motion. ​The officer instructed his cook, Batak Mian Ansari, to mix deadly poison into the glass of goat milk served to Gandhi ji. ​Batak Mian was a humble man, but his conscience couldn't be bought. Risking his life, his family’s safety, and his livelihood, he secretly warned Dr. Rajendra Prasad (who later became India's first President) about the poisoned milk. Gandhi ji never drank it, and history was altered forever. 🇮🇳 ​The cost of his bravery? ​Batak Mian was immediately stripped of his job. ​He was jailed, brutally tortured, and driven out of his home. ​He lived the rest of his life in extreme poverty, largely forgotten by the nation he helped save. ​Decades later, when Dr. Rajendra Prasad visited Motihari in 1950, he recognized an elderly Batak Mian standing silently in the back of the crowd.
